Jennifer Messier

Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, I moved to California and received a BA degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu. I moved to the Lowcountry in 1993 when Highway 278 had one stoplight. It only took a month to know that getting involved in real estate was inevitable and I was fortunate to meet Phil Schembra, Owner and Broker-in-Charge of Schembra Real Estate Group who established his firm in 1976, and learn real estate sales from one of the best.  

Many members of our family were professional athletes and it was a natural to love the outdoors.  What's not to love on Hilton Head Island with 14 miles of award-winning beach, surfing, biking pathways and every sport you can imagine. Surrounded by the Intercoastal Waterway, Broad Creek and the Atlantic Ocean, it is only natural to enjoy the wildlife, water sports, and all things "water". Seeing a dolphin in its natural habitat never gets old. The most spectacular times of the day are the amazing sunrise and sunset over our piece of "paradise".

I chose to raise my daughters on the Island and once they both graduated from Duke, and later, one in the MIT graduate program, I moved to another Island, Harbour Island, in Eleuthera in the Bahamas, and became the General Manager of our family-owned hotel, Runaway Hill Inn.  I returned to the Island  in 2021 and am presently Director of Risk Management and Strategy at Outside Brands and as a 30-year member of the Hilton Head Island Board of Realtors, I continue to help buyers and sellers achieve their goals and objectives.  Please get in touch if I can answer any questions or provide you with information.
