Why Specialize?

In 1976 Phil moved to Hilton Head Island to sell real estate for the Phipps Land Company, the developer of Palmetto Dunes. Based on that experience, he founded his own company, Schembra Real Estate Group, Inc. Because of his strong belief and commitment to the community, he chose to specialize in Palmetto Dunes.

As a resident, he became involved in this young, growing community and was the Chairman of the first Beach Management Committee for the Hilton Head Island Board of Realtors. He also helped in re-writing the South Carolina Beachfront Management Act.

Phil was instrumental in bringing college golf to Hilton Head Island as the founder of the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Inter-Collegiate Golf Tournament, which evolved into the most prestigious college tournament in the country.

Recently Phil helped usher in the Palmetto Dunes Community Enhancement Fee to ensure its reputation as a world-class oceanfront destination resort.

Specializing exclusively has made Phil the “acknowledged leader” in Palmetto Dunes real estate. This has resulted in many personal record-breaking sales on Hilton Head Island – all achieved in Palmetto Dunes, Shelter Cove and Leamington.
